From July 16 to 19, 2026, the Russian Rowing Championship took place at the Krylatkoye Rowing Canal in Moscow. The competition brought together the country’s strongest rowers — from juniors to international-level masters. Distances ranged from 500 meters to 2000 meters. Boats — singles, doubles, fours, and eights. Every race is a blend of synchronicity, power, and willpower that’s visible to the naked eye.
Shooting rowing turned out to be a unique challenge: capturing the rhythm, the oar movements, and the tension on the finish line was demanding. What impressed me most were the eights — watching eight people work as one machine is mesmerizing. I managed to capture not only the race itself but also the emotions after the finish — exhaustion, joy, relief. Krylatkoye lived and breathed sports during these days.
Rowing is beautiful. Rowing is powerful. And I want this sport to thrive in Russia.
