On August 8, 2026, Moscow hosted the large‑scale triathlon festival “Moscow Mayor’s Cup 226”. Several races started simultaneously: IRONSTAR 113 (the “half‑iron” distance), the Russian Cup, and the Russian Triathlon Championship on the Olympic distance.
The competition took place across two venues: swimming and cycling at the Krylatkoye Rowing Canal, and the finish line at the Luzhniki Olympic Complex. I was shooting the final running stage. Athletes entered the last kilometers some pushing their limits, others smiling, knowing the hardest part was behind them. The contrast was striking: those running 21 km after 90 km of cycling and 1.9 km of swimming, versus those finishing the Olympic distance.
Among IRONSTAR 113 participants, Mikhail Loginov won with a time of 3:51:02. Among women, Arina Solovieva finished first with 4:25:14. At the Russian Triathlon Championship on the Olympic distance, Dmitry Karpeev took gold (1:41:28), and Valentina Ryasova won the women’s race (1:54:04).
