On August 8, 2026, Moscow hosted the large‑scale triathlon festival “Moscow Mayor’s Cup 226”. Within its framework, several races started simultaneously: IRONSTAR 113 (the “half‑iron” distance), the Russian Cup, and the Russian Championship on the Olympic distance.
I was shooting the finish straight at the Luzhniki Olympic Complex. Athletes were entering the final kilometers of the running stage some on the edge of their capabilities, others with a smile, knowing that the hardest part was already behind them. It was clear how much the physical and emotional state varied across different distances: those running 21 km after 90 km on the bike and 1.9 km of swimming, versus those finishing the Olympic distance.
Among the IRONSTAR 113 participants, Mikhail Loginov won with a time of 3:51:02. Among women on the 113 km distance, Arina Solovieva took first place with 4:25:14.
The lens captured the finishing sprints, the emotions of the athletes, and above all the festive atmosphere. Triathlon in Moscow is powerful. Thank you to the organizers and to all the participants for this day!
