From October 14 to 18, a major combined track cycling tournament took place at the legendary Krylatskoye Velodrome. Over five days, medals were awarded simultaneously across four major events: the Russian Championship, National Championship, Russian Cup, and All-Russian competitions.
I shot the final days of the competition: October 17 and 18. The track featured both experienced professionals and young talents: men and women, juniors and junior women aged 17-18, as well as youth aged 15-16. The program was packed: 500m and 1000m flying time trials, sprint, scratch, elimination race, points race, and madison.
The names of some winners are already known. On the second day of the competition, Alexander Dubchenko won gold in the men’s 1000m flying time trial. Among junior women aged 17-18, Victoria Luchina took first place in the 500m standing time trial. In the 1000m flying time trial among juniors aged 19-22, Nikita Bykovsky won silver.
The Krylatskoye Velodrome is rightfully considered one of the fastest in the world, and these days it proved it once again.
