On September 19, the VTB Arena in Moscow hosted a group stage match of the VTB United League Super Cup 2026 between Turkish Anadolu Efes and UNICS Kazan. The match ended with a victory for the Istanbul club with a score of 91:79.
The top scorer for UNICS was Jalen Reynolds with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Xavier Rathan-Mayes had 15 points, Denis Zakharov and Brandon Adams each had 13. For Anadolu Efes, the best was Mike James with 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Bruno Fernando added 15 points and 6 rebounds, Matthew Strazel 13 points.
The victory secured first place in Group B for Anadolu Efes and a spot in the Super Cup final. UNICS, with one win and one loss, finished second and will play for bronze on September 20. This match was the debut for UNICS center David McCormack, who arrived in Moscow the day before.
