On July 10, 2026, the water area of the Round Pond in Izmailovsky Park became the epicenter of extreme water sports. The 5th International Hydrofly Fest, the largest in the world, was held here. Russia is an event dedicated to water and motor sports.More than 100 athletes from 17 countries and 30 regions of Russia competed in several disciplines.:
- Aquabike-freestyle — jet skis performing incredible stunts and flips;
- Jetpack — jet-powered flights over water;
- Jet surf — surfing with a motor;
- Hoverboard is another discipline where riders literally hover over the water.
My day at the festival was the day when I realized that sports photography is not just about speed and sharpness. It’s about the ability to predict the moment when an athlete breaks away from the water and catch him in flight.
