On September 12, a BMX contest took place in Moscow featuring one of the biggest stars of world extreme sports, Garrett Reynolds. The American rider, who represents the Red Bull team, holds the record for the most X Games gold medals. He has 16 gold medals and 19 podium finishes in total, making him the most decorated BMX rider in the history of the Games. Despite his legendary status, Garrett turned out to be an open and communicative person who gladly interacted with the audience and posed for cameras.

The contest itself was held as a street session on a specially built course with ramps and rails. The riders performed complex tricks, and the audience, which gathered in large numbers, actively supported the participants. The atmosphere was truly festive: music, emotions, applause after every successful move. I would especially like to note the level of organization and how well everything was thought out for both spectators and athletes.

I shot that day, trying to capture not only the tricks themselves but also the riders' emotions and their interaction with the public. The result is a series of portraits of Garrett, shots of him in mid-air, and atmospheric photos from the spot. It was great to work at such an event and see a world star in person.

It was great to work on this event. If you are organizing a sporting event or looking for a photographer to photograph your athletes, I will be glad to cooperate. Write to us and we’ll discuss the details.
