On April 20, 2025, the Luzhniki Olympic Complex hosted the Triathlon League & IRONSTAR 1/8 Moscow Luzhniki 2025 competition. This event opened the triathlon season in Russia and attracted more than a thousand participants. The athletes had to overcome 380 meters of swimming in the indoor pool of the Luzhniki aquatic complex, 20.5 kilometers of cycling along the Luzhnetskaya and Frunzenskaya embankments and 5 kilometers of running along the alleys of the complex. The competitions were held both individually and in relay races, which allowed the teams to share the stages and reach the finish line together.
I was invited to these starts by the Alfa-Bank triathlon team in a friendly way. The guys asked me to film their performance, and I agreed with pleasure — it was interesting for me to work with the corporate team and capture their preparation, struggle at a distance and emotions at the finish line. The shooting lasted from early morning until the finish of the last participant. The transitions between the stages were especially impressive — the moments when athletes switched from swimming to cycling, and then to running. This is a real test of functional training. We managed to capture the tension of the start, the beauty of the track and the emotions of the finishers. In addition to the sports part, the EXPO zone with new sports equipment was open for participants and spectators, and the entrance for the audience was free.
